Martine Rose has been making clothes in London for fifteen years from inside the city's subcultures — rave, dancehall, football terrace culture. The elongated proportions, the tailoring cut for movement rather than formality, the fabrics that reference where her customers actually came from. The work reads as biography as much as design.
The Rose Collage Football Top and the Oversized Panelled Tee reflect the current range — graphic, proportional, built around the same London references that run through the mainline. The Nike collaboration brought the design sensibility to the widest audience without diluting it.
